I’m Netty Lou, textile maker and visible mender based in Derbyshire with over 35 years of experience in fashion, dressmaking and textiles.

My creative business, Story of Things, is built around one belief, that the things we already own are worth caring for and that a hole in a garment is not the end of a story but the beginning of a new one.

I teach people to mend, alter and re-love what they already own through mending workshops, one to one sewing sessions, community projects and The Mended By You Kit, a complete mending experience designed to build confidence and teach a skill for life.

I also create one of a kind upcycled pieces on The Reloved Rail, wearable art made entirely from rescued and pre-loved materials.

Everything I do is rooted in slow fashion, sustainability and the deep joy of making something good with your own two hands.

Mending is just love, made visible.
